School Career Development Advisor (SCDA) Training is designed for providers who work in many settings and help prepare students for meaningful work and managing their careers. These providers work with other staff to coordinate the design, implementation, and monitoring of school and community-based efforts to improve the chances of students entering the job market with skills, knowledge, and credentials to be competitive.

Completion of this course qualifies an individual to apply for the NCDA Certified School Career Development Advisor (CSCDA) Credential. More information can be found on the NCDA website at https://ncda.org/aws/NCDA/pt/sp/credentialing_cscda.

This training is designed for individuals working in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 sector. They work in these primary areas:   student career education and advising, working with business and industry as the school’s key point of a contract and organizing career-related events such as career days, job fairs, company tours, or internship/externships.

The NCDA Facilitating Career Development Instructor Training will prepare you to teach the NCDA FCD Training course to those working (or planning to work) in the career development industry. Instructor Candidates will already have extensive expertise in:

  • career development and/or career counseling
  • training adults at corporate, post-secondary educational, or government level
  • career / vocational assessments
  • labor market (occupational) information and resources
  • job search retention techniques
